FirstCamp Nashville is a "unconference" designed to engage high school students into technology by allowing them to present and discuss their ideas. In addition, we will bring thought leaders from the community to help guide and develop their ideas. Nashville has been a leader in providing BarCamp and PodCamp. These events have 500-600 people from the business community, but nothing is being done to engage and excite students about technology. FirstCamp will be the vehicle to introduce and excite high school students about technology.

Based on the BarCamp format and built in a true "un"-conference fashion, FirstCamp is a free event supported entirely by our generous sponsors. We are expecting between 150-300 students in 2011!

Become a digital rock star. Sign up now to attend and connect with new opportunities in design, social media, podcasting, online video and much more. This session introduce to the high school students 3 exciting computer Science camps offered at MTSU during July 2011.

Fred Carr, the Chief Operations Officer for Metro Nashville Public Schools will discuss the work of the IT & Data Transformation Leadership Group. Of particular focus will be how we create a partnership with students in the classroom through technology.

Paul Campbell, Technical Supervisor at Magnetic Dreams will discuss how animation occurs and their work with Taylor Swift, Ironman, and other properties.
